Free WEIR:LIVE party on Saturday 3 October, Blossoms at the Plaza on the 15th, then Halloween trails, markets and a scouts' bonfire on 7 November.

The biggest free event of the autumn is this Saturday: WEIR:LIVE, an all-day party under the viaduct at Weir Mill on 3 October, with the Tour de France Femmes trophy on show next door. The biggest ticket is Blossoms at the Plaza on Thursday 15 October, where the Stockport band launch their new album with two shows in one evening. Between and after them come the Makers Market, two amateur theatre runs, the half term Halloween trails and the first bonfire of the season, at Heald Green on 7 November.

The Heald Green bonfire is the first display in the borough to publish its 2026 date and prices. Our bonfire night page tracks the others. Remembrance Sunday is 8 November, and the council had not published this year’s timings when we checked; our Remembrance Sunday page will carry them. Getting there

The Plaza, Merseyway, the Market Place and Weir Mill are all within a ten minute walk of each other in the town centre, and the Town Hall, Hat Works and the Garrick are a short walk up Wellington Road South.
